'Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson' - SpeakEasy Stage Company, 2012
For the emo rock musical, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, the vision was to create a rock-show set that was dressed with the props used in the show and other objects from the time of President Andrew Jackson. Wire mesh walls were hung with Indian trading blankets, wagon wheels, horse tack, kitchen pots and pans, maps, sports equipment, mirrors, frames, instruments, and more.
In addition to the extensive set dressing, this show has a pretty bloody scene in which two characters slit their arms, bleed into a basin, and then make out with the blood. Enema bags rigged into costumes with a special boiled blood recipe made it safe for eyes, mouths, and clothes!
